SQUEAKY CLEAN!

My Grammy PJ shined me up in the bath tub while Mom & Dad went out on a hot date. I gave her some great faces to capture with her new camera. I really tried to get the camera wet. I don't think she liked that, though. It was alot of fun for both of us.

Saturday Fun

Yesterday, our friend Rudi came over to take some pictures of the three of us. Matt held up fairly well, until the end when he was tired of smiling and being so cute. She took some great shots of us, which will be coming soon. Stay tuned! In the evening, Mom and Dad had some time without the munchkin, as Grandma's are the best babysitters! We went out to a new quaint little French restaurant (which reminded us so much of being in Paris) with our sidekicks, Martha and Serdar (AKA "The MarDars" for short"). We had such a great evening!

We had Thanksgiving dinner out this year! For those of you who know me well, you know this was a hard thing for me to do! I love cooking on Thanksgiving, but am not so crazy about cleaning up, and with the baby this year, we decided it would be easier to have someone else cook and clean up! My Mom flew in and we went to a great restaurant and had a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings! Martha, Serdar, and the Dave's came, along with David B.'s Mom, Carol. We had such a nice evening and the baby did well being out past his bedtime.

Foti, Matt, and I want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving full of friends, family, delicious food, and great times! We are thankful for our health, good fortune, and all of our loved ones! We are truly blessed.

Technological Issues

Ok, so the 'puter at home is back up and running- THANK YOU FOTI!! Now, my cell phone is on the fritz! I spilled a soda on it a few weeks ago and when I took it to the cingular store today, the guy pulled it all apart , told me I must have spilled a soda on it (how the hell did he know that?!?) and told me I have to buy a new phone and the cheapest one they have in the store is $100 and is gigunda! Whatever dude. I am so not paying $100 bucks for a crappy phone. I have to buy a new phone ASAP because who can live without their cell phone? I guess I should be gratfeul that I can at least surf the 'net again!

'Puter Troubles

I am having difficulty with our computer at home. It seems it has some sort of virus, which the computer technician (AKA my hubby) is currently working on. Hopefully it'll be resolved shortly. See you all soon!

Happy Name Day To ME!

"Matthaios the Greek wonder child here. Reporting to you live from my crib. I'm here hanging out with my friends. Yesterday we celebrated my first official 'name day'. In Greece, birthdays aren't celebrated as much as name days. Everyone celebrates the "Name Day" of the saint that bears the same name. St. Matthaios' (Matthew) day is on November 16th. My Yia Yia called me to wish me a happy name day or as she says, "Chronya Pola" which means "Many Years." You have to admit I'm a pretty smart baby to know all this cool stuff about my culture. Well, Mom and Dad help me out a little bit. Anyway, I had an awesome day yesterday. Don't I look like I'm having a great time?"

New Name Needed

Pap's New Tat

My dad, who is the king of kick- ass tattoos, added a new one to his collection. In honor of his first grandson, he spent 2 1/2 hours yesterday being inked up at the coolest tattoo shop in the 'burgh. He said it was one of the more painful pieces he has; I told him that he is just getting old and forgot how painful they can be!

Getting Better!

Matt is feeling a little better today. He has been getting his breathing treatments and steroids and I noticed his cough is getting a little more harsh, which sometimes happens before it gets better. He slept fine- no coughing, but he did wake up at 3:30 to eat! He didn't even drink half of his bottle before he went to bed last night, so I think he was a hungry little man! He was in a great mood when he woke up this morning. We start our first baby music class at the museum tomorrow so he has to feel better so he can get his groove on. He tolds me he's very excited about some new dance moves he's been working on. Can't wait to see them! HA!

Doctor Visit

The little guy has had a cold and dry cough intermittently for about 6 weeks. Yesterday, his cough became very wet and much harsher sounding and he developed a low grade fever. I left work early today and took him to his pediatrician who diagnosed him with bronchiolitis, an infection and inflammation of his bronchioles (the airways that lead to his lungs). She gave him 2 breathing treatments in the office and arranged for us to have a home nebulizer machine delivered to the house for us to give him the treatments at home every 4 hours. She also prescribed some steroids to help decrease the inflammation in his lungs. Poor little thing! He absolutely freaked out in the office with the breathing treatments but did a little better at home. He is acting like his normal, happy self though, which is a big relief to us! Seeing him sick just breaks my heart in two and it's only a mild illness. The doctor said he should be feeling alot better in the next day or two.

My First Haircut

First the curlie cue in the back was snipped...
and then off came the mohawk!

Foti and I gave the boy his first haircut yesterday. When he was born, he had a decent amount of hair which was appropriately allocated over his entire head. At about 6 weeks of age, just the top fell out, making him look like a balding middle-aged man. That section slowly started to grow back and what happened weeks later? The sides and back fell out! The only piece that remained from birth was this long curl that grew from the crown of his head. It was cute at first, but then the curl grew longer and the top starting growing really fast, leaving my precious baby with this pseudo- mohawk with a long pigtail growing out the back! We decided to trim it up and make it more even. Well, now it's even- he's bald EVERYWHERE! Oh well, it'll grow back (I hope!)

"Even though I am a little guy and this is officially my first football season, I know a jinxed team when I see one! What is going on Big Ben? 3 interceptions? Can it get any worse? WE ARE TIED WITH CLEVELAND, FOLKS. TIED FOR LAST PLACE IN OUR DIVISION. Sigh..."

Yesterday we had a Southern BBQ at our house, complete with smoked Baby Back ribs, Texas-Style Beef Brisket and all the fixins! Foti was the incredible smokemaster and I, of course was the gracious hostess with the mostess. Seriously, we had a great time hanging out eating and drinking with our friends and family. Cousin Mike was here and we are so sad to see him go back to Dallas. He's been in culinary school here for the past year and it was so much fun spending time with him- we're going to miss him! He's finishing culinary school in Dallas as he is soon to be married. Anyway, we had a beautiful sunny and breezy day and everyone left with nice full bellies and a smile on their face.

"Matthaios here. Today I experienced my first Halloween! Mom dressed me up as a Sweet Pea, but since it's so hot here I took it off before we left. We met all of our friends on the main street in our town and had so much fun! There were lots of kids and dogs all dressed up and there were rides and candy and contests! Next year it'll be even more fun when I can walk around. What do ya think- am I a cute Sweet Pea or what?"
