Happy Thursday!

Go Steelers!! Check out my version of "Big Ben!" He looks so cute in the jersey his cousin Nate gave to him. When we were home a few weeks ago, I found a pair of Steelers Crocs for him and he wears them every Sunday to support his favorite team! Even though they lost on Sunday, we'll still be cheering them on next week.

Our boy turned 18 months yesterday! He is so full of energy and sass! He wants to do everything himself. He prefers to eat his food with a fork, loves to do a toast with his sippy cup before each meal and tries to put on his clothes. He loves wearing Mom and Dad's shoes and is practicing making "fish lips." Yia Yia is teaching him lots of Greek, he understands and listens to what she says! He eats almost everything (except pineapple) and loves foods I didn't think babies usually eat- olives, feta, coffee, spinach pie. His Mediterranean blood shows through! He has 10 teeth, 8 in the front and 2 molars. The molars have been the toughest on him, but he's a trooper. He has a longer attention span now and wants us to read to him all the time- he's constantly carrying around books. He climbs up and down on everything, which makes me nervous, but I try to let him be as independent as I can. He is stubborn and feisty (don't know where that came from), and he loves being kissed and tickled. He sees him Grammy PJ & Pappy Bruce and Pap Pap Petie & Grandma Lulu every weekend on the web cam and he is finally understanding it- he blows them kisses and dances for them (he loves JT- how hip is that??) Have a Great week!

Weekend In the 'Burgh

Last weekend, the three of us flew to Pittsburgh to see our friends Keith and Danielle tie the knot. While we were there, we visited with our friends and family and had a great time. Foti flew back on Sunday since Yia Yia was at our house, but the boy and I stayed a few more days. It was a busy trip as usual but we really enjoyed ourselves.

Pap Pap Petie took Matt for a swim in the backyard since the weather was still warm. I'm not sure who had more fun!

We visited with Great Grand Pap Paul at his home, where we did the 'kid exchange." Foti and I dropped off Matt and my Mom took him back to her home for the night so we could go to the wedding.

Pappy Bruce found his sister Janet's tricycle in the garage, so he cleaned it up and Matt had so much fun even though his feet didn't quite reach the pedals.

Someones still a sleepy head on Steeler Sunday- better wake up for the game!! Did I mention the Steelers kicked some Cleveland Boo-tay??

Our friend Danielle on her big day being escorted by her Dad. She looked absolutely gorgeous!

Foti and I with the newlyweds Keith and Danielle. They had one of the nicest weddings we've been to (no, I 'm not just saying that 'cause they read my blog!) The wedding and reception took place in a beautiful old German Catholic Church which had been renovated into a grand hall. We were so glad to be there on such a special day for them. We wish them many years of happiness together!

"Hey, Pap- where did you get all that thick black hair?"

"Hey Baby, how you doin'?"

On Monday, my Dad, LouAnn, Matt and I went to the Pittsburgh Zoo. I think we enjoyed it just as much as the little guy did!

Even though these creatures are one of the reasons I avoid swimming in the ocean, I thought it was a great photo.

Two of the zoo's Bengal Tigers

Matt and his adorable cousin Katie! She stayed over one night and was like a little mom to Matt. He loves playing with her!

Matt got to experience a little more of his momma's home town- watching the Steeler game, eating "Jim's Hot Dogs", hanging out at his grandparent's house and being surrounded by his big crazy family! His Slovak Great Grandma Gerbo taught him how to say "Opa!" and someone taught him how to say, "Oh, shit", although he left off the 't'. Hmmm... It was really nice to be home with everyone. We miss you guys!!
