To Cut or Not to Cut

Should I go for the cool mom haircut? Or stay with the ever-present ponytail?





Ok, I am still having major trauma about my alopecia issue. Every morning when I brush my hair, it seems as if half of it falls out. Hair is everywhere, the bathroom floor, all of my clothes, even the baby is covered with my long hair. My big dilemna is: should I keep my hair the length it is now or go to the Mom Hair Salon and chop it off?

Cranky Franky and Fat Matt

Matt is bummed out today because his friend Franky is moving back to Massachusetts this week. I guess Franky misses his Grandma and Grandpa and has been crying about it, so his Mom and Dad decided to move back home. Yesterday Matt and I went to visit Franky and his mom Andrea. We had lunch and the boys hung out. They looked at each other in amazement- it was so cute. Hopefully Andrea, Tim, and Franky will come back to Miami to visit us once in a while. We'll miss you!

Mr. Matthaios does something new everyday! Today he is trying to reach for his toys that are in front of him. When he is on his tummy, Alexandra puts her hands by his feet and he pushes forward, trying to r-r-ee-a-cc-hh! When he is sitting and you put a toy in front of him, he reaches for it with both hands. My little Einstein!

Big Man

When I first saw these photos, I thought 'He looks like a big boy- where did my baby go?!?' He sits up with a little assistance and just this morning I laid him on his back on my bed and 2 seconds later he was on his left side! I love to see his progress, but I know that soon he'll be running away from me in the store and yelling at me, 'NO, Mommy!' I am not ready for him to grow up! What's a mom to do?

Matty and his Uncle Dave

On Sunday, we all went up to the David's house for a cookout and a little dip in the pool. Nurse David is the grillmaster and we had such a yummy meal. It rained most of the time we were there, but we were determined to get in the pool! Once it slowed down to a drizzle, we all jumped in- even the baby (well, he did a well executed back dive). I think Matty would have preferred a warmer temperature to swim in, so he cried a bit. Oh well, he looked like a cute little surfer dude in his board shorts.

I Have the Evil-Eye and My Hair Is Falling Out

So, being back at work is pretty tough. Somedays I want to go in my office, lock the door, and take a nap. OF COURSE, I don't , but I want to! I am not feeling like myself- much more tired than usual. Alexandra says that I have the Evil-Eye and she supposedly cured me of it last night by saying a secret prayer and having me drink water and a drop of olive oil from 3 different parts of a cup. I'll let you know if it works. Also, why didn't any of you women, who are supposed to love me, tell me that post- baby, my hair is going to fall out?!? And not just a few hairs, like tons?!? WTH? I feel like I am going to wake up as bald as my kiddo. Anyway, enough complaining, I feel better now. The munchkin is doing great- still waking up at 3 am, but what can you do? I found this little onesie for him and thought it so appropriate. Look at his little attitude!

TGIF!

Well, folks, I've had a busy week! I have been playing and babbling with my Yia Yia while my Mom is at work. Yia Yia tells me funny stories and sings me songs in Greek. Dad came home early a few times this week and we got to have some manly time together. I am sleeping better at night- now I only wake up once at 3 am and cry a little till Dad sticks the BoBo back in my mouth. I don't know why I cry at night- maybe I just miss my Mom and Dad. Mom is still taking a million pictures of me ALL THE TIME! I know I am cute, but damn! Get that camera outta my face! It's hard to look this adorable all the time!

Matty and I celebrated the 4th of July with Martha and her mother-in-law Nurten (who is here visiting from Turkey) at the Miami Shores Country Club. We had a nice evening of people watching and fireworks. Matty was a little startled when the fireworks started, but quickly became accustomed to the noise and seemed to actually enjoy the show!

Matty loves when Daddy gives him a massage after his bath. It helps him to unwind from a long, hard day of pooping and crying.

3 Months Old

"Hey Everyone! Today I am three months old! I am getting to be such a big boy- I now weigh 13 pounds and have rolls all over the place that my Mom likes to bite. Sometimes I drive my Mom and Dad crazy with all my crying (I like to keep them up at night-tee-hee), but I'm so cute they can't be upset for too long. YiaYia has been taking good care of me while my Mom goes to work. Mom feels bad leaving me, but I'm fine with it because I know she's saving money for me to go to Harvard- Dad says MIT, but we still have some time to decide!"

I.am.tired.

Foti's Uncle Aleco is here this weekend visiting us from Dallas. He is very animated and loud (imagine that!) and Matty gets a kick out of him!
Our friends Amy and Rey shipped their kiddos down to their Grandma for the week. Grandma brought them down to visit us and they had so much fun with the baby.
The Dave's took Martha and I out for a 'Girls Night' last weekend. Mama A had quite a few drinks and had to milk herself upon her arrival home so as not to intoxicate her child.

Ok, I haven't used this word too much because every new Mom is tired, but I am really pooped. I started back at work this week and I knew it would be tough, but WOW! When I was pregnant, I thought I couldn't be more tired- was I ever wrong! Matty has been off of his schedule this week and it's hard to get up to feed him several times at night, then go in to work with a fresh face at 7 am. My MAC lady hooked me up with some pretty good concealer though. Anyway, I am too pooped to make up individual posts with all the latest pics, so here they are- jumbled mess and all. More to come...
