Two More Babies to Birth

Well Friday night was not one of my better moments. I had to go to the ER for left sided kidney pain, which ended up being two kidney stones. Yeah, lucky me. My friends and colleagues took great care of me, giving me big doses of pain medication addicts would kill for. I spent all day Saturday with a little pain and lots of nausea but once again the girls from th ER came through again, coming over after work, hooking me up to an IV and rocking Matty to sleep. I think Fotis was about to pull his hair out with the two of us! He didn't know which one to help first! Today I feel fine, although I have to work on getting those two little buggers out of there!

Hangin' with Dad

Matt and Dad relaxed on their favorite chair this lazy Sunday afternoon. I caught a great picture of one of Matt's toothless grins. He's smiling and interacting with us more each day. What a blessing he is!

So Matty Cakes went to the pediatrician today and he now weighs 7 pounds 13 ounces and is 20.5 inches long! What a growing boy he is! I guess the every two hour feedings are fattening him up a bit, huh? The doctor said he looks great and will see us again in June for his 2 month check up.

Grammy and Me

This past week, my mom was here to lend a helping hand and some great motherly advice. She and Matty had a great time together. What will we do without her? I have a feeling she is going to get a few late night phone calls from now on. She taught Foti and I quite a few things about parenting, did tons of laundry, let me get some much needed rest, changed a million poopy diapers AND on top of that, cooked an awesome Easter dinner. Talk about Supermom! I hope I will be half as good of a mom as she is. Thanks Mom! We love you!

Hot Date

Last night, Foti and I had our first real date without the baby. We went to China Grill in South Beach and had a great evening. Mama had her first glass of Cabernet in a long time and it tasted incredible! Grammy Paula was babysitting and of course Matty was an angel. We took this pic before we left. Please notice the bags under my eyes. They are a motherhood badge of honor!

10 days old

Baby Matty is growing before my very eyes. He is becoming much more alert and makes eye contact when you talk to him. He is getting used to sleeping at night (if only for 2-3 hours) and stays awake longer during the day. We went for our first walk in the Baby Bjorn carrier yesterday. He looks so small in it. He screamed when I put him in it but quickly fell asleep and was even snoring! How cute is that? Please note that he gets that wrinkly, worried forehead from his daddy. What does he have to fret over?!?

Lazy Sunday

This morning Matty received his first tub bath. He liked it at first, but those smiles quickly turned to cries! He had a great night last night- Mom and Dad got to sleep 2.5 hours at a time. YAY! Later today we are going on our first family adventure to Lincoln Road with our friends.

Growing Boy

Today we had a follow up appointment with our pediatrician. Matty now weighs 6 pounds 8 ounces. He gained 3 ounces in 4 days! He is a champ at breastfeeding. He roots around and snorts like a little piglet and then goes to town. He loves hanging out in his Pappasan swing given to him by his Auntie Kami. He still hasn't gotten used to the fact that we are supposed to sleep at night, but we are working on it. Grammy Paula is flying in from Pittsburgh today to meet her grandson for the first time- we can't wait!

Baby Makes Three...

Matthaios Alec was born yesterday 4/3/06 at 11:08 in the morning. He weighs 6 pounds, 5.2 ounces and is 20 inches long. His birth is by far the most incredible experience of our lives! We are in disbelief that this little person came from us. More news to follow, Mom and Dad need to rest!
