I get to skip school all week and hang out with them while Mom and Dad go to work. Pap and Mom took me to the park and we had so much fun. I tried to eat leaves and grass the whole time but no one would let me!"

Matt And His Two Grammies

On Thursday, my Mom and Grandma flew in from Pittsburgh to stay with us for a long weekend. Matthaios was so excited to see Grammy PJ and Great Grammy Gerbo! We dragged them all over the city!


Music time for all the little munchkins. Matt loves going to class every week and his Grammies enjoyed seeing him having so much fun!

I had to work on Friday so the two Grammies went into action! The three of them played, sang songs and went for a beautiful walk together.

Look Ma! No hands! The kid kept letting go of everything this weekend! He let go while sitting on this little bike, while standing in his crib, standing by the coffee table! Doesn't he know that he is a little baby and he is not supposed to grow up and get big?!?

On Saturday we went to the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. It was so cold in the morning- I thought I was back in Pittsburgh! It was about 45 degrees- BBRRRR!! It quickly warmed up and turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. Matt and I even got a little sunburn.

My little man was all pooped out after shopping so much with his 3 leading ladies! On Sunday, it rained in the morning so the girls went to church while the boys stayed home and napped. Then we went to the mall and did a little more shopping. I found my next Coach bag- it is to die for! (Hint, hint to the hubby- my birthday is almost here!) We took Gram Gerbo out for Cuban food at Versailles and I had my favorite Cuban meal, Vaca Frita. Matt's two Grammies are leaving in the morning and we are going to miss them so much!

"Hey Everyone, today my Pap turns 50! Mom tried to bake him a rum cake for his birthday, but she f***ed it up so she sent him the cake mix instead! He's coming to see me next week and I'm gonna take him for a night out on the town to celebrate! I hope you have a happy birthday Pap! We love you!"

Week In Review

This family has had one busy week! Matt had been coughing at the beginning of last week, so on Thursday after all my failed Mom/ER Nurse tricks, it was time to take the munchkin to the pediatrician. She gave him oral steroids and breathing treatments. In case you've never wrestled with a strong-willed, big muscled 1o month old to keep a mask with aeresolized medicine over his face for 10 minutes 3 times a day, trust me- it ain't no fun. He's back to his normal self now- silly and ornery and full of pep. That's my boy!

My girlfriend Susie flew in from San Francisco for a visit and the old ER gang got together for our usual drink fest. We tried to convince her to move back to Miami, but I think she's a California gal now. She's the blond on the right. I think the California sun must be stronger, because her hair is blonder now than ever before. Hmmm...

The boy has now perfected the art of pulling himself up on almost everything. Lord help us...


Saturday I had to work my one day a month as a staff nurse in the ER. My co workers were teasing me that I might forget how to be a nurse since I am in the office most of the time. It's one of those things you don't forget! My crazy psych patient hit on me- that made my day. I love my job.

Sunday was mostly a day of rest! We went out to breakfast and took naps in the afternoon. I tried to make a rum cake, but forgot to grease the pan, so I got half a rum cake. Nice.

Oh, yeah and last week I had a root canal. Fun times at the Snap-Crackle-Pop-Odopoulos house.

My Little 10 Month Old Climber

This kid has no fear! One minute he is on the floor and the next he climbs up on the lower part of the coffee table and gets what he wants then pushes himself backwards (or sometimes forward over the edge) onto the floor! He bangs his head, bumps his chin, stubs his toe, but doesn't seem to care! What am I in for??
