Singing With Daddy

Matt and Dad had a great time together yesterday singing songs and hanging out while Mom got ready for our day. We drove to Naples, which is about a 2 hour drive from Miami. Matt was fine on the way there, but as soon as we got to Naples and stopped to eat, he screamed his head off! He whined most of the way home, as well. Oh well, we still enjoyed our day. The great thing was that he slept so well last night, as I am sure he tired himself out from all that fussing. I got the most sleep I have had in two months!

Million Dollar Baby

My friend Amy and I bought this onesie in Las Vegas last year when I was about 4 months pregnant. He finally fits into it and looks too damn cute, if I must say...

Motherhood Lesson #241

Spicy Thai food gives breastfed babies diarrhea. Hmm...

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Matty and I want to wish a very happy birthday to the best dad and husband we could ever ask for! You make our lives complete Foti and we love you more than you can ever imagine!

Two Peas in A Pod

I think this is the cutest picture of my dad and Matty. Can you see the resemblance?!?

Matt's Baptism

Matt was baptized today at Christ the Light of the World Catholic Church in Pittsburgh. Our friends Keith and Danielle are Matthaios' Godparents and were there with our family to share such a joyous occasion. Matt was such a little trooper. He cried a little when Father Dennis poured the icy cold water on his head but slept the rest of the day as he was always snuggled in someone's arms. I don't think Foti and I held him all day! Next summer, Matt will be baptized in the Greek Orthodox church where Foti was baptized in Nafpaktos, Greece. I know it's not customary, but we think it's important for him to be introduced to both of our religions. We had a great weekend with our family. It was a bit tough traveling with the baby (who knew ten pound babies need so much crap!) but it was so nice to have Matt meet his Pittsburgh family!

Happy Friday!

My little guy slept 5 hours last night! Whoo Hoo! He slept from 10 pm until 3 am and Mom actually got 4 hours of sleep IN A ROW! Wow. Too bad he didn't want to go back to sleep after his 3 am feeding frenzy, but oh well. We'll work on that.

Reflux Baby

Matthaios went to the pediatrician yesterday since he has been throwing up a lot of his milk and is a bit on the cranky side. He had an ultrasound to make sure he doesn't have pyloric stenosis (which is a narrowing of part of the stomach that causes babies to projectile vomit) and it was negative. The doctor diagnosed him with gastroesophageal reflux and prescribed him some baby zantac. Hopefully it'll help! He now weighs 10 pounds, 3 ounces and is 22 inches. He's growing so fast even though he pukes up half of his milk!

Barbie Doll Grandma

My Grandma Barbie passed away peacefully this morning in Pittsburgh. She was such a vibrant, thoughtful, beautiful person and she will be dearly missed by all of us. When my cousin Tiffani was little she coined her our "Barbie Doll Grandma" which we all got a kick out of, especially Barb. You will be tremendously missed Barbie! You will always be in our hearts.

Little Red Riding Hood

Foti spent most of the afternoon and evening resodding our front yard in the pouring rain. What an awesome little gardener he is. Matt and I decided that we'll keep him!

Happy Mother's Day!

Me, Grandma Gerri (aka 'Gerbo'), Aunt Pam, Cousin Tiff, and of course my mama. This pic was taken 5 years ago at the Race For The Cure in Pittsburgh. It was the last time I was home for Mother's Day. My Gram slipped, fell, and broke her leg during the race (she was sprinting) so we spent Mother's Day in the ER. At least we were all together... :)

Today started out a little rough. Mr. Crabby Pants didn't sleep well last night so Mom and Dad are pooped. Dad has been outside since the early morning ripping apart our yard. I felt bad watching him through the window so I went out to help and lasted about 15 minutes in the hot sun. We just had a new driveway and 2 walkways installed so we have to resod the WHOLE yard in order to pass the inspection from our lovely "Code Enforcement Officer" who also happens to be a "Jackass." Hopefully the kiddo will take a few nice naps and Dad will take us out to dinner later. I did get a kick-ass necklace for Mother's Day from my two boys. Foti said Matt has been saving up for a while. What a thoughtful baby...

Play Time

Matt and I went shopping the other day and bought a Baby Einstein gym. He loves it! He smiles, coos, and kicks his legs. His eyes light up when he sees the lights and hears the music. I hope it lives up to it's claims and makes him a smart scientist!

Sunday on Lincoln Road

Today we went to Lincoln Road and the beach with our friends Marco, Michelle, and Eva. We had a nice lunch and walked around for a while in the beautiful warm weather. Not to worry Pap Pap Petie- Matty was dressed appropriately for the day!

My Little Pork Chop

Baby Matty was having a good time this afternoon hanging out in his crib watching his mobile. He is growing so fast- I swear every morning he looks bigger! How cute is that smile?

Wild Parrots

This morning I was awakened not by a screaming baby, but by two screeching wild parrots. Fotis grabbed the camera and caught a pic of these two lovebirds in our neighbors tree. They are the biggest wild parrots I have ever seen here in Miami!

Doctor Visit

I went to see my urologist today (you know you are old when you have a urologist) and he said not to worry that I have not yet passed my stone. He said the stone is small enough to pass on it's own- no need for interventions. WHEW! I see him again in 2 weeks for an ultrasound to see if the stone is still present, but in the meantime I just have to drink buckets of water everyday.

Happy Tuesday!

Matty sat in his vibrating chair for the first time today since he was too small to fit into it until now. He loved it, except for the fact that his smart mom put him in it a little too soon after having his breakfast and his milk vibrated back up. Oops. Sorry babe.

4 Weeks Old

Mr. Matthaios turns 4 weeks old today! I can't believe it has been that long already. He has changed so much in the past few weeks. I can tell that he has gained more weight- he feels so much heavier and his little chicken legs are starting to plump up!
